She later enjoyed listening and singing hymns from her bedside; she asked and accept prayer from those who visited. On Sundays, she wouldoften say, “You been to church today? Engle was a domestic worker. She could be found babysitting her nieces, nephews and neighborhood children. She was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend, expressing her love to all. She was a peaceful person with a spirt that everyone loved and met. She was always helping people, often running errands for those in need. She never drove or wanted a ride, for she stopped to visit family and friends along the way. Before going into the nursing home, she made daily phone calls or visits, checking on family and friends.
