Marilyn Olivia Moody Leatherbury was born on September 2, 1930 in Baxley, Georgia to the late Tina Lee and Gordon Moody. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Leatherbury, Sr. and son, Steven Leatherbury.
On November 23, 2018, Marilyn entered eternal rest at Anchorage Healthcare Center in Salisbury, MD at the beautiful age of 88.
Marilyn was employed with Salisbury University for 30+ years. She was a faithful member of Mount Calvary Church in Fruitland, MD. She loved sitting outside and watching the stories, Andy Griffith and 227. She loved meat and mashed potatoes. Her favorite saying was “Chile Please” and “I know everybody and been everywhere.”
Marilyn leaves to cherish her memories five sons: James Paller (Patricia), John (Karen) Leatherbury, Kevin Leatherbury, Richard Leatherbury and William Leatherbury, Jr. all of Fruitland, MD. She also is survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and friends.
In addition to her parents, husband and son she was preceded in death by her four siblings, Gene, Gordon and Nathanial Moody and Jeanette Moody Brown.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 10:30 am at Mt. Calvary UMC in Fruitland. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at a later date.
