Obituary of Leroy White, Sr.

Leroy White, Sr. departed this life of Monday, April 10, 2017 at his residence. Born on October 21, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Lucille White and Hilton White.

He received his education in Salisbury graduating in 1948 from the Salisbury Colored High School. After being drafted, he served in the US Army and in places such as Korea, and Germany. Also, he was employed numerous years by Sheraton Hotel and various other places.

On November 26, 1962 he married the love of his life, Daisey Charmaine (Camper) White who preceded him in death. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, where he served as a member on the Trustee Board, Usher Board, Voices United, Charge Mens Choir, and also a member of VFW Post 10159.

He loved spending his time fishing, crabbing, playing cards, and having family gatherings.

Leroy leaves to cherish wonderful memories with his children: Antoinette, Archie, Pamela, and Yvette White all of Salisbury, Leroy White, Jr. (Angela) of Willards, Hilton (Wesla) White of Princess Anne; twelve grandchildren: Shante’ (Anthony) Bailey, Bryant, KeShawn, Kevon, and Eric White, Tory Wallace all of Salisbury, Markaja, Moniyah, Hilton White, Jr. and Donghalik Bradley all of Princess Anne, Keisha Jones and Lequisha Hodges of Willards; eight great grandchildren: Anthony, TyJae’, KamRon, Amari White, Dominic Bailey, Logan and Larden Wallace and Atianna Maddox and one great-great grandchild, Joel Parsons all of Salisbury. Also left to cherish his memory are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and two special friends, Melvin Seldon Sr., and Floyd Smith.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 11 am at Friendship United Methodist Church, Wetipquin Rd., Quatico, MD. A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Stewart Funeral Home by Holloway and Downey PA on West Rd. in Salisbury.
