Oliver Leroy King, Jr., 58, of Baltimore, was ushered in the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at his home. Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Oliver Leroy King, Sr. and Sarah Frances Wessels King.
"Junior" was a hardworking man, who had a great love for all his family. He was strong in Spirit and Character. He was a 1977 graduate of “old” Washington High School and previously worked for Campbell's Soup until they closed in 1994, later moving with the family to Baltimore. His favorite hobbies include watching sports, westerns, cooking, gardening, farming, bicycling, and reading his Bible. He was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Ravens fan and loved playing basketball. He especially loved family gatherings such as reunions, birthday and special events.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Tanicia King of Salisbury; two sisters, Suzette Y. Brown (Lloyd) and Juanita J. Spencer, all of Baltimore; 3 aunts, Margo Stevens (Howard) of Salisbury, Mary Fields of Salisbury, and Virginia Gale of Rhode Island; 3 uncles, Hugh “Shug” Spence (Delores) of Eden, Robert Gale (Loretta) of Princess Anne, and Bobby Gale of Princess Anne; 6 nieces, Phyllis (DeVaughn) Angela, Olivia, Lakiesha, Shamekia, Sha’Nyda; 4 nephews, Marcus (Angela), Dalvin, Jaquan, and Vernon; and a host of great nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of His Life will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 12 noon at the Stewart Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private.
