James David Wilson, Sr., 91, of Mardela, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at PRMC in Salisbury. He was born May 11, 1926 in Mardela and was a son of the late Columbus Wilson and Edna Furr. James was employed as a United States Postal Service Contractor for a number of years until his retirement. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Wilson was a member of the American Legion Post 145 and the Wesley Temple both in Salisbury. He is survived by three children James D. Wilson (Janice) of Lanham Maryland and Darlene Bess of Philadelphia, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Lillie Mae Wilson, two children Michael Wilson Sr. and Julia Capel, a brother Milton Wilson and a sister Addie Brickous. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Wesley Temple in Salisbury with Reverend Dr. Bernadette Beckett officiating. Interment will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens in Mardela Springs. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening June 29, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Stewart Funeral Home by Holloway and Downey, P.A. and one hour prior the service at the church on Friday.
