Our Staff

Funeral Directors or Mortician have completed intense training from a Mortuary School at a college that has this curriculum. After they have finished college they must pass a rigorous National Board Examination followed by a State practical and written examination.

A Funeral Director is in charge of all the logistics following a death. They complete all the necessary paperwork, make arrangements for the transportation of the body, and put into action the choices made by the family in regards to the funeral service and the final resting place of the body.

Beyond the logistics, funeral directors are there to provide moral support and guidance for someone coping with death. Ask the funeral director to see their license when you are making arrangements.

John M. Holloway, CFSP — Owner

Caring for families at a difficult time is my top priority. Meeting with families and managing our staff to handle and respond to the needs of our families wants and requirements is most important. My goal is to continue what my grandfather and father started by serving all families regardless of what their financial status is, and helping them to say goodbye to their loved one in a respectful manner.

My advice to families is to plan ahead. Talk to all of your family and find out what they would like to see happen at the time of your death. Remember the funeral and the opportunity to say goodbye is for the living and not the deceased. Although this is not always a pleasant experience it is a healthy experience.

Duties include assisting families during funeral services both at the funeral home and at the cemeteries. Pick up and receive pets to be cremated. Provide cremation services for both humans and pets. I look at my primary duty as providing a special and caring attitude and service to families that have either lost a loved one or a loving pet.

From personal experience, I know that pre-need arrangements that are paid or non funded is an important step in preparing for the loss of a loved one. At the time of need, emotions and sorrow overwhelm us and the process is greatly affected.
